What is culture? There are many definitions but the one we like is this: "It's the way we do things around here".
If you are leading, or part of a cross-border team, then it's critical to have a better understanding of the cultures you are working with. There are so many stories of an irrevocable breakdown of trust due to a lack cultural awareness. Showing an appetite for knowing about a colleague’s culture, their values and the way they see things, will put you on the right track to forging a far stronger bond. Given that you won't have the advantage of working in the same place, it's especially important to work on your cultural intelligence.
