Enhanced cultural awareness - greater collaboration

What is culture? There are many definitions but the one we like is this: "It's the way we do things around here".

If you are leading, or part of a cross-border team, then it's critical to have a better understanding of the cultures you are working with. There are so many stories of an irrevocable breakdown of trust due to a lack cultural awareness. Showing an appetite for knowing about a colleague’s culture, their values and the way they see things, will put you on the right track to forging a far stronger bond. Given that you won't have the advantage of working in the same place, it's especially important to work on your cultural intelligence.

At ASL, we have a huge amount of experience working with people from different cultures. Increased globalization means that there's a growing need to work with colleagues and clients who may well have very different values and perceptions.

Ask yourself this question: What is the jeopardy if I fail to build those bridges and collaborate effectively with my colleagues?

This programme provides a highly practical overview of how to collaborate with people from different cultural backgrounds. We consider the dangers of stereotyping, the need to look at the world through a different lens and why it's critical to adapt your behaviour in order to build better relationships.

If you are managing or collaborating with international teams, then this workshop may well have the answer to a lot of your questions.
